MEATmarket, Covent Garden

Posted by Calum Sager on 21 June 2012

The team behind MEATliquor are back with a new restaurant in Covent Garden. The man behind the successful franchise is Yianni Papoutsis, who first caused a stir with his MEATwagon (a mobile burger van offering what he described as guerilla dining). Next he established a permanent home in the West End with MEATliquor which quickly became the talk of the town, with punters braving queues of up to an hour and half long for a taste one of their famous burgers. Out of the success of these previous ventures MEATmarket has been born, situated on a mezzanine that overlooks London’s famous Jubilee Market in Covent Garden, interior architects Shed, along with design boutique I Love Dust, have once more designed the interiors. Fitted with provocative signage and bold neon lights, MEATmarket's identity lies somewhere between a food market and a American roadside diner, supplying what are fast becoming the most highly regarded burgers in the capital.
